RE20FI

Between 2010-2015, a project called the Ark project was proposed to several countries to facilitate foreign direct investments with ESG financing of climate adaptation and humanitarian programs to rehabilitate communities displaced by climate change impacts. The project was renamed RE20FI, Renewable Energy 20 Financing Initiative with a minimum requirement of 20% equity and 20% debt investment in renewable energy and energy efficiency projects, and infrastructure projects that utilize at least 20% renewable energy electricity. The countries that responded to the RE20FI proposal are indicated by “RE20FI-FDI-ESG Climate Impact”.
